This camera takes outstanding video. I couln't believe how crisp, clear, and colorfull everything turned out. The zoom is great. I have dropped mine a few times. After dropping it, the focus seemed to be off, but all I had to do is disconnect the batterry and reconnct it to bring it back to normal. I probably won't ever use the battery that came with it, it is way to small. I ordered larger ones when I bought the camera that last about 4 hours. I also bought a charger that charges the batterry from the wall outlet or car dc outlet. The camera only comes with a usb cord that charges the batterries while they are on the camera, which is lame, but I forgot my wall charger on my last vacation and used the usb to camera connection to charge the batterries with know problem. A ac wall outlet to usb adapter is great if you don't want a computer running to charge it. It would be nice to have a remote control for playback prior to burning to disk, but it was easy enough to play back video straight from the handycam to my grandparents tv using the included mini hdmi to hdmi cord that comes with the camera and using the buttons on the handycam. Everything about this camera was super easy to use. An older person without skills will most likely not have a problem operating this camera. I was debating on ordering the sony and two other brands, but after reading the reviews on how hard it was for people who bought those other cameras to change the format to something compatible to play on a dvd player, I decided to go with the sony. Do your research. If your like me, you want something that works and doesn't make your head hurt trying to figure it out. I am definately glad I decided to go with this camera and hope to take tons of home videos so our family can enjoy the memories later.
I bought this camcorder to take on a vacation my grandson and I took. It is small and compact with a strap to put your hand through when taking videos. We went to an antique car and plane museum and I took a lot of footage for my husband with the descriptions to go with it. My husband enjoyed our trip through this camcorder.
I bought this as my first camcorder, and it is just awesome. So far i've had it for a few days, and it is working fine.
Pros: Can be charged off of a usb charger you use for an Ipod, or even from your computer.
Great quality and microphone.
Very easy to use, and get started with.
Lightweight, and very small.
Very cool design
Zoom is awesome.

Affordable price Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR with 18-55mm IS II Lens and EOS HD Movie Mode (Black)
I've known for some time that I wanted a DSLR. I waited until my digital point and shoot died nearly 10 months ago. And then I waited, and waited. When I realized that I was starting to be missing some key moment in my life that I would like to have photos of, I finally pulled the trigger and stepped up to the T3. It may be the entry model for the Canon DSLR line, but for the money the photos are gorgeous with just the kit lens. Adding a Telephoto Zoom is just another level of fun. I needed a camera that would allow me to experiment in manual modes, but one that could still act like a point and shoot for the wife. I love this camera. It's so easy to navigate the menu, which for most is the most complicated part of operating the camera. Without even a read of the manual, I was up and running in 2 minutes testing out all the features. Plain and simple, at this price point, this is a great camera for a beginner or intermediate photographer looking to edge out of the simple point and shoot cameras without spending a small fortune. Be wary though...all the accessories add up quickly.
The EOS Rebel T3 features Canon’s newest Dual-layer sensor, with 63 zones. By measuring not only the amount of light, but also taking into account color and luminosity, this new system delivers a very high level of accuracy for better results every time. Since the metering sensor has a color measurement function, exposure errors and focus errors caused by different light sources are minimized; the EOS Rebel T3 gives stable exposure from shot to shot in situations where light changes, such as sports on a cloudy day, or indoor holiday scenes.
I bought this camera, i dont have it yet, but i have been reading a lot of reviews and this camera is awesome, its my first slr camera, i had fujifilm s4000 and s4500 and i started to use a-mode, s-mode, and i decided to go slr, i bought canon t3 + 18-55 lens + 55-250 is lens for 562.5 $, really great! i own fotodiox hoods for both lens, filters, air blaster large and screen protector. ill buy 50mm 1.8 lens and the hood.
